Is or has anyone used H4350 in the 7mm08 Rem? I see load data and have fair amount so thought I'd try some. Loaded up 7 rounds for a ladder test and quit couple grains below listed maximum as there was very little case room left. Put a Speer 130gr BTSP on top of it. Just curious to see what this powder might achieve.
Dan.

I think if I was using 150 grain class bullets I would run H4350 for a try. On lighter bullets I’m not sure it is fast enough with what little room you have to play with re 130 grain bullets. I am interested how it goes though, I have a number of cartridges that love H4350.

I had good luck with H4350 in the 7mm-08 with 140 gr. BT. Here are some examples.

They are not "FOTIS" groups but they were good enough for me at the time. Each increment in powder charge required a different bullet jump.

I have a speer manual as well and the loads for the 145 SPBT are really starting to get up into 280 territory. Its a reasonably old book so I have always wondered about pressures.

Sometimes manuals leaves one scratching their heads. The current Hornady show the 6mm Creed outrunning the 240 Wby with heavies.

Never tried any 4350 in my aught 8. Ive used Varget, H414, IMR 4895 and Big Game. All have worked very well.

Im currently working on a Big Game powder load with a 139 gr SST that is showing promise. Ive got 10-12 more loaded up to hopefully get to the range Saturday and prove previous results.

It's been so nice the past few days, 81 degrees yesterday. Wished I could have went to the range.

I never really saw myself being a 7mm08 kinda guy. I had a ruger Hawkeye in 243 that I wasn’t using and the trade wasn’t worth much so I had it rebarrelled. I have found it to be such a handy cartridge and somewhat of a jack of all trades. Not excelling at any one thing but great at most. It is such a versatile round, so easy to load for and if I was travelling out west, it is probably one of the first rifles I would grab.

Ive been an aught 8 fan for a long time but only an owner of one for the past 5-6 yrs. I find them quite handy in the somewhat tight confines of a blind and really handy in a ladder or climbing stand.

The milder recoil and bullet availability make these rifles just about perfect for most of the North American game animals.

Of the rifles I own I reach for my aught 8 the vast majority of time.

Winchester Stabal6.5 has done well in a couple former 7mm08s so it will be getting tried out in this one as well.

I got introduced to the 7-08 about 30 years ago. A friend let me use his for some Metallic silhouette matches that he introduced me too.
I gained respect for that round knocking over the 55 lb rams at 500 meters (547 yards). A ton of fun!
