Up until a few months ago, I kept reloading notes either in my reloading manuel or on scraps of paper. I then started keeping extensive notes in a college composition book. A few days ago, I found the "Hand Loaders Log" by MTM/case-gard. A three ring binder, it has different charts to keep accurate notes for each of the loads. The Log also includes different types of targets to help keep notes. Not sure if anyone cares, but I find it to be an excellent organizational tool

Very neat system, no doubt. I still use a different hard cover notebook for each cartridge I load. The system you are showing here could have some advantages in organizing on the basis of bullet weight/powder choice/etc.

Briarbank targets. They are on heavy stock paper punched for three ring binders. They have space for powder, bullets, primer, load, seating depth, fps, and all kinds of stuff. Just use dividers in your three ring binders and you have a section for each cartridge. I sure like them.

Mountain Plains makes some similar targets with blue instead of black. I like both designs a lot, and they have different sizes to enable you to get the right size for the power of scope you have and the distance you are shooting. Love both of these.

Nice. I keep a three ring binder, going back many years, with dividers for different cartridges. When I sell a rifle and no longer reload that cartridge, I take all those pages out of the binder and put them in a folder. Once in a while I return to a cartridge, or pull out the old info to help a friend.

I'll include all my load data, groups, scores if applicable, and notes on field performance as well.

Targets and photos are also included.

I've slipped on recording the numbers of rounds through a rifle barrel - used to be better at that...

You guys (pun intended) are much to organized for me. I do have a three ring binder with representative groups matched by the best loads. But once I develope "the" load I quit posting loading data, and just hang on to a target once in a while. !
Guy how is the Volkswagen penetration test going , I am waiting for those results.

Found I've actually got a soft spot in my heart for VW's, and can't bring myself to shoot one...

Sad, 'cause I know a guy here in town with a vintage VW convertible....

I just started using the MTM binder - The spiral notebook wasn't cutting it!

I looked over all the commercial ones and didn't find one that fit what I really wanted. Using MS Visio, I ended up just making my own. It's a hybrid to match how I workup loads and shoot.

One a single page:
- Reloading information for the batch - also supports 10 different powder charges per batch
- Reloading checklist - I'm anal about how I follow a process to make sure each batch is safe. As I do the build, I follow my checklist so I know everything was done correctly
- Shooting log - So I can keep the reload data tied to how it performed. (Location/Range/Cold bore, Conditions, Wind, velocity and notes for each powder charge.)

That way, I have everything about a load in one place, on one page. Simple.
