We finally got tired of fumbling around with meat poles made from whatever we found lying around. This time we sunk two schedule 40 iron pipes on the ground. The crossbeam and pulley attachment rod are welded steel. The pulley slides along the rod at the very top. The stainless steel meat hooks have a welded piece at the top forming a “T”… you can’t see them in the pics but there is square slots cut in the bottom of the square crossbeam. After you get the deer/bear raised into place just slid the “T” into the slot and rotate 180* and it can’t pull back through the slot. Take the wench cable an off the deer and slide the pulley down for the next deer. We found it easy to just jab the meat hook through the lower jaw.
