help me identify a gun

I was wondering if anyone saw the episode of "Dead or Alive" on the discovery channel (the crab fishing show) where the guy throws a plastic tote in the water and shoots it with a rifle? I was trying to find out what kind of rifle it was, not the cal but the rifle itself. Anyone know? Thanks!

It is either a stainles M1A or a Ruger mini14 or mini 30.
