Well gang it is a tough life but we are leaving again tomorrow for a weekend of Elk hunting and then draw Moose starts this coming Monday . This time the new girl is going to draw blood on something other than a skunk, I hope
I will keep you guys posted. I did hit the range once this week with my nephews 7mm mag and the new Zeiss conquest on it, I at this point have nothing but praise for that scope.
I sent Doc a photo of the last target I shot with the 35 Whelen let me tell you it is one nice rifle she is almost tuned to perfection so I better keep up my end of this partnership :).
I will keep in touch with you guys using the old Iphone.
To everyone that is hunting or about to start remember be safe, have fun & shoot straight.

Blessings,
Dan

Dan,

Sorry for the delay. It has been a hectic day.

Great target, by the way. Must be a fine rifle.

Great load Dan right at 2700 fps and excellent accuracy, pretty hard to beat that.

Good luck Dan. The Whelen is looking good. I have 2 weeks before my Whelen goes west to CO for Elk. I'm the only one in my group who picked up a deer tag and they have been seeing some nice ones in our area. Starting to get excited.

Dan, I am thinking your 35 Whelen thinks it's a 222 Rem! Great shooting, and EXCELLENT speed! Good luck buddy, hopefully you put the smackdown on something good buddy!

Billbam, we're all pulling for you to have great success on your hunt. Dan, that load looks as if it is there. Moose and elk beware.

"Whelenunacy! It strikes again!"

A disease I hope I never get cured of.
Paul B.

That must be just awful to have to elk hunt then turn around and moose hunt too  . And then to top it off as if the above hunts were not bad enough that tiny little 35 cal group didn't even hit the orange. :p

Bill

Bill, it is a tough area to hunt. It is hard work, but we're willing to do it. We in Canada are pioneers, attempting to take up the slack where land hasn't yet been settled.

You tell them Mike, remember I will always have your back 8) even it it is a few miles back
The Whelen club just keeps getting larger and larger. My cousin text me and advised that he is serious looking at picking up a 35 Whelen before next year.
He has been more than impressed with the speed, now hopefully I can show him her knock down capabilities.

Blessing,
Dan

Mike it makes me smile to know such pioneers still exist. I only wish I had to elk hunt then turn around and go after moose.

Bill

Yeah, me too Bill. I wonder how Mike deals with the hardship. I tell him I am ready for a pinch hitter, but he never seems to give me a shot!

Bill, it is tougher than that! I have to shoot moose first, and then elk.

Just manfully bearing the burden, Scotty; sparing you the pain.

My God, your heart has to be almost as big as the bull moose you shot a few weeks ago!

That was a little bull. There is no cardiac hypertrophy in my family, but I do try to bear up under the burden of pioneering. 8)
