I acquired the Savage 280 Ackley I asked about in another thread. And sat down to go through my 7mm bullets. I’ve had a midway USA box of 150 grain 7mm “bonded blems” laying around for probably 4-5 years. Thinking they were Hndy Accubonds, I would put them in que to work up a load. But getting the box off the shelf on the back side I had wrote “7mm 150 Scirocco”. Opened the box and sure enough there’s 201 7mm 150 grain sciroccos. And then I remembered combining open boxes of them into 1 bigger box. Never got to fly to well in my 280 and forgot about them. Maybe they’ll work in this ackley

As with all bonded bullets, the Scirocco requires a good jump to the lands for the best accuracy. They were a favourite bullet for me in the 280 and the 7mm RM. Nevertheless, they do require a pretty good jump. In one notable instance, with a 270 WSM, I was well over 0.250 inches from the lands before the load tightened, giving me superb accuracy.

Yep, they flew exceedingly well in my Tikka 270 wsm and were jumping around .150", but that particular Model 70 280 was a finicky beast that really only shot the AccuBond, NBT, and Barnes ttsx well. But boy, the Scirocco really hammers critters.
