Where can a guy go hunting over the holiday break. My school is off for around 2 weeks every year and I would love to take my wife and myself on a hunting trip.

Texas for exotics/ferals, Alabama or Missouri for deer, and there are quite a few states w/ late-season front stuffer deer action. Here in Michigan we have ML thru 12/22, then a private land antlerless season for select counties thru New Year's Day.

Alternative weapons season in Mo from 12/21-12/31 this year.
Muzzle loaders, centerfire pistols are legal.
Can also bow hunt if so desired.

We're leaving for the lease again next Friday after work.

I would think hogs in the South would be a nice way to get away from the cold.. Plus a little pig meat for the freezer wouldn't hurt too much..

Amen Scott. That is what I did with the kids in the past!

A hog hunt would be a lot of fun and provide you with some good eating.

Predator hunt? get a few calls and head out for coyote and fox. the plus's are its fairly cheap, good way to scout new areas, helps hone the accuracy-field position shots, can be quite exciting. Minus's ( may be a plus but hey) youll need to get a dedicated yote rifle, start load development and shoot way more then usuall.lol

If you have experience at it, I might allow coyote hunting on my property in NY. You can hunt day and night, with no bag limit. I might even throw in a personal bounty.
