Hornady rates the SST as performing well with muzzle velocities between 2700 and 3200 fps. I don't believe it will come apart between 2600 and 2700 fps. I am really surprised that you would think the BT would not maintain integrity at lower velocities. They will work very well at those velocities. The AB would also work well. I guess I'm a little confused by what you mean that the AB is "too much bullet." I believe you would be quite pleased with the performance of either bullet at the velocities you project. At those velocities, a Hornady Interlock, A Sierra Game King or a Speer Hot-Cor would work equally well. I wouldn't hesitate to use any of these bullets.
