How low can I go?

How light can I go with bullet weight with my 1:10 twist 6BR barrel? I can find lighter bullets but the 6mm heavies are hard to find.

Just a quick check shows that both the 55 and 70gr will be slightly overstabilized in the 10-twist. I suspect it won't be a problem, and accuracy won't suffer much if at all.

I agree. Better to have too much twist than too little!

On the box of 6mm, 95-grain Matchkings it says the bullets require a 9-twist. So maybe something around 85 grains?

Both 55 gr and 70 gr BT's will shoot just fine in a 1:10 twist.

My savage 243 would shoot the 55gr BT into bug holes @ 3965 fps with a 1:9.25 twist. But, it would rip the 72 gr Barnes Vermanator (?) and the Nosler 55 gr SHOT bullets apart if pushed above 3650 fps. I would say that you'll be in fine shape with a 1:10.

I've got to quit skimming the titles of these threads. I thought this would be a video of WT singing Chubby Checker's "Limbo Rock," while dancing.

As has already been stated, a fast twist will not inhibit accuracy on lighter bullets.

What bullet weight are you looking for? I got a bunch of Nosler 90gr BT's I'd be willing to trade away.

I'v shot 75 gr vmax out of my 1/8 twist 6mm br just fine I'm sure 65 gr bullets will be alright.
