How many types/species of big game have you hunted?

My experience is limited - I live in a good mule deer area, so I have focused on them, but the only big game species I've hunted are:

mule deer
whitetail
pronghorn
elk
black bear
wild hog

Yes - I think that's about it. Of course many types of birds, varmints, predators etc... But yeah - only those six types of "big game." I know some of you have all sorts of experience with many times more species than that.

In fact, that's one of the reasons I like hanging out here on the Nosler Forum, to learn about hunting other interesting big game animals. Looking forward to learning who has hunted what.

Thanks, Guy

About the same as you Guy

Caribou
Whitetail
Moose
Elk
Mule Deer
Black Bear

With the very impressive addition of moose and caribou! (y)

I'm about ready to get another moose and griz as well... Hopefully soon.

Before moving to British Columbia, I'd only hunted mule deer in Texas. Since moving to BC, I've been blessed to hunt a good variety of big game.

Fallow Deer
Whitetail
Mule Deer
Caribou
Elk
Moose
Mountain Goat
Big Horn Sheep (Never hunted thin horn sheep, though they are in this immediate area.)
Black Bear
Grizzly
Wolf
Lynx (Never hunted cougar, though I should have done so long before this.)

Never hunted pronghorn or wild boar. Such a hunt would be most interesting. I may have to make that happen shortly. Can't say that I've been successful for every game animal, but mostly so.

Oops! Forgot to include bison.

Guy, I have only hunted in Yukon, N.W.T., B.C., and Nunavut, so my variety of animals will not be as extensive as some of my brothers and sisters here.

White Bear, Brown Bear, Black Bear, Grolar Bear, Moose, Elk, Caribou, Goat, Sheep, Bison, Muskox, Deer, Walrus.
don't know if you consider these four big game animals or not--lynx, cougar, wolf, wolverine.

However, we hardly ever hunt the white bear, walrus, or muskox at this time. We have to travel south a bit to hunt Elk, Goat, Sheep, and deer, so don't do that either on a regular basis. Of these four probably sheep the most often, but we don't usually have the time to travel south and we also have to get permission from a different first nation, but er do so on occasion. BTW, the reason we will travel for sheep more often than Elk, Goat or Deer, is because we like the meat from sheep a little better than the other three, but it is all good. We do like the Elk and Bison hides, especially if we have a clothing project in mind.

if this is to much information please delete some of it or all of it (-;

I have been fortunate enough to hunt all 7 of the dangerous game animals ( elephant, hippo, lion, croc, leopard, rhino, buffalo) Lion is my favorite hunt. leopard, rhino and croc being my least favorite and probably with never hunt them again.

I don't remember exactly but I am sure I have been on at least 30 different species of plains game hunts. But I was born in Africa, hunted on my grandfather's farm and had a mother who would rather hunt than eat. So I didn't get a lot of ballet lessons.

I also have accompanied my mother on hunts for at least 5 different species in Europe. My favorite being Capercaillie on cross country ski's--but don't think they are considered big game, just a big bird.

2 species in North America, 2 species in New Zealand ( however they were two of the same species hunted in Europe ).

I plan to hunt with my mother this year in Argentina so I hope to add a couple new species to the list, but at the moment have no idea what we will hunt.

My mother went on two Marco Polo hunts and didn't take me neither time )-: ( actually the first time she went I wasn't born yet )

I still have a hunt I am saving for. I want to go on a Polar Bear hunt and in a few years I will have enough money saved to buy my first home or go on a Polar Bear hunt. Home or Polar Bear hunt---Home or Polar Bear Hunt---Home or Polar Bear hunt---- I am thinking, I am thinking LOL

Best Regards

Jamila
