How to Become a Wimp In One Trade!

Man, when did this become a math forum! Sure way to bring anyones score up is to get yourself a Guide Rifle or heck a 444 or 405 Win would help too

With multiple .358 calibre rifles and a .366, I though sure my average would be higher. Too many .284 and lower calibres lurk in my safe. Wait a minute! I bought the 260 for my grandchildren. Ditto on one of the 22s and the 257. Let's see. If I recalculate, it comes out to .338, and I get to keep one of my 22s. I guess I can keep driving my F150.

Yeah, I think were good there Mike. I think if we computed powder capacity, we would be okay as well! I might have to figure out my average... Scared though!

Yeap, just did it, my average is 309.2! Man, I thought I would be higher! Scotty

Oh, powder capacity. Here come the RUM owners. Things are going to get complicated. Who makes the decision on keeping the man card? What are the final parameters? This could get hairy! David (6mm Remington), you need to do something immediately, what with those wimpy cartridges that are hiding in your safe. (Note to self: pick up that Winchester Model '86 and a Winchester Safari Express in .458.)

Well, at least it's a Jetta, you haven't fallen to Prius level yet.

At least my powder per case average stays at 66 grains per case for my centerfire rifles. That makes me feel better!

Guy, I don't think there is any difference between the classes of drivers except how much they pay for their cars. All the ones that I see of both, are hair buns with no makeup, thick lensed school teacher looking creatures with white running shoes and "Obama/Biden" stickers on their bumpers, but then I live near I-5 which may skew that average somewhat.

Well, if it wasn't for my 30-30WCF, my average powder charge would run in the mid-60's. As it is, it runs 59.7. But, I think having a lever gun automaticallly adds points for my man card, doesn't it? This is so complicated. Can't we just get together and pee for distance? I can spit farther than a bunch of folks, too...

I just spit coffee all over my keyboard! This is getting waaaaay too complicated (but I do have multiple lever guns :) ).

I'm at .240, damn 17 fireball and 4 223's kill the average. If I don't count the 41mag Marlin it would be even worse.

Same here, I have multiple lever rifles and drive a diesel pickup so it has to count for something! Scotty

Hunting seaons are winding down. I just thought that I would stir the muck, so to speak. No real man card permanent harm or morale damage intended!

Yes, Charlie, but now all of us will have the needed excuse to be buying more rifles, always with an eye on our manliness as measured by average bore size. I did look at a Winchester Safari Express chambered in 416 Remington this morning. I wasn't really thinking of buying it, but... And when my wife asks whatever possessed me, I'll just say that it was necessary because Charlie jeoparidzed my man card.

I'll do my best not to breathe out the secret of your residence. However, she does have family in Bellingham and makes the trip occasionally.

I went from a Ford 4WD truck driving, cowboy boot wearing man with a aggregate centerfire rifle caliber mean of .356 diameter in my safe, down to a Volkwagon Jetta driver, wearing Birkenstock sandels and Greenpeace tee shirts in one gun trade, bringing my centerfire rifle aggregate down from .356 to .287 in one day!

All this from one trade of trading a Marlin .45-70 for a Mauser .257 Roberts. I may never be the same again! Does anyone have a .577 NE for sale to bring the stars back in alignment again? I am not sure that I can live with the new me?

Ouch, that's gota hurt!,,,,,did it leave a mark?
:p

Nice! I like where your heads at Mike! I might have done the same thing! Scotty

It won't leave a mark for long. I gotta get a .45 LC Model 92 someday. I sold mine and miss it.

OK, I own a .257 cal. Mauser......It is one kick @$$ piece of equiptment, BUT A JETTA!?!?!?!???? FOR A FORD! thats really sinking :) At least ya still got a gun. Guys gotta do what a guys gotta do. CL

No, I still have my Ford 4WD that was just a metaphor?

DrMike, I know that you wife comes down here. That is why I said it. 8)

No. Subarus may be great vehicles, but their image is tarnished by all the granola-eating, whale- and tree-hugging wannabe hippies in The Willamette Valley and Pugetopolis.
