How to Become a Wimp In One Trade!

I think extra credit should go to those that carry evil black rifles or any rifle for that matter in dangerous places.

What a great topic  . I have had fun reading this one! Did the math and found out I am at .277 (like my varmint rifles too much). Will need to find a few calibers that I can stick my thumb down the barrel before I will qualify to keep my man card :!: Now that I traded my Ford for a Chevy I must really be in trouble.

Joel,

There is a pattern developing there. You will need to take immediate and drastic action to remedy this perilous situation.

You could have a safe full of .585 Nyati rifles and it wouldn't overcome driving a Chevy. :)

257A,

Trading a Ford for a Chevy ... yup, you're in trouble now  !

There's nothing wrong with havin' several varmint rifles, I need another one also. Local farm store has the 700 Rem. SPS SS on sale now, and their .243s are tempting.

It is virtually mandatory to offset the purchase of every varmint rifle with at least one rifle capable of taking cape buffalo. That way, even if you slip up and buy a Chevy, you can keep your man card.

Well if I include my 22 LR I just dropped form a .300" to a .293". I sold my 338 edge, and am picking up a 7 STW. Do I include the .50" muzzle loader? Wait, just asked ATM and he says yes to the muzzle loader, so went from .322" to a .316".

I'm not worried about the man card being in jepordy.

Dang, all this time, and I didn't know this rule! I have some shopping to do! Unfortunately, .404 Jeffery and .470 Capstick rifles are very spendy.

Let's see, 9.3x62, .375 H&H, .375 Ruger, .404 Jeffery, .416 Rigby, .416 Remington, .458 Lott, .470 Capstick...

One would'a thought the rule was intuitive, Kurt. Think, man. Think! At the rate you're going, you shortly be buying a Chevy Volt.

*political rant deleted*

I know you were joking Doc, but there is no way I will own a Government Motors vehicle or a vehicle subsidized by the government. And a Volt is both.

Realistically, I can't afford to buy both an expensive varmint rifle, with an equally expensive (or more so) scope at the same time I buy an expensive stopping rifle with a somewhat cheaper scope but stupid expensive ammo, brass and dies. Have you priced Jeffery dies? Yowch! RCBS are about the cheapest, and they are about $150<cough>!

Unless you are buying....

:)

Now, Kurt, I wouldn't insult you by offering to pay with the northern peso. I'm glad you deleted the political rant.

I wouldn't be offended at all. A new rifle bought with Canatuckian money is just as good as a rifle bought with good old US greenbacks.

Whoa! Now we can include muzzle-loaders? Earlier I was told they weren't included! That brings me average up a bit. Don't have time to recalculate it now, but it will improve.

And, I'm thinking having a truck capable of leaving ankle deep ruts in a wet greenfield retrieving a buck, without spinning the tires, also adds extra credit…

That is my excuse too DrMike, "I bought them for the Grandchildren". Problem is, that I need another big banger to replace my .45-70, then all will be right with the world!

Man, I would have figured with nine .30 calibers I would have scored higher, but I don't even average a .270 Winchester! (avg: .274) Maybe the .17, .204, five .22s and two 6mms did me in.

Just recalced (and built an Open Office spreadsheet), and the new toy moved it a whole 1/1000th... .2753"

I guess I'll play with the spreadsheet and see what a Marlin .45-70 will do for me (probably not much).

For those of you priviledged enough to be able to watch the Red Green show for the years that it was on, you may be able to save face if you have enough duct tape in possession. Duct tape is an important asset to those who would be men among men. Maybe you can wrap some around those smaller cal barrels to "beef em up".

And the Possum Creek motto.....I'm a man, but I can change if I have to.

If you don't know the show you won't get any of this.

Long,

If one lives in Canada, it is mandatory to watch Red Green and all the reruns. "Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati." Keep your stick on the ice. We're all in this together.
