I took a ride with Longwinters today...really to sight in his new purty CZ .22 rifle... 8) I brought along a (1957) .308 L57 Sako Dlx Hunter that I picked up over the winter to put a few rounds through...
Waaalll we stopped by the gunshop first...and there sits a new gorgeous Icon... and (of course) the owner LOVES old Sakos....Some time later I walk out with the new .308 Icon, with a Leupold 3X9, Weaver steel Rings/Basas (all mounted/bore sighted)! (Had to borrow a C note from Long
)
It gets even BETTER!
I had no rounds loaded because I swapped most of my 150gr and 165gr .308 stuff to Long! :roll:
Being the GENT that he is...he loaned me a 1/2 doz loaded rounds to sight this new beauty in... 165gr Intls in front of 44.5 gr of RL-15 on Lapua brass (2.810 OAL).
After three sight in rounds put me above the pinwheel at 50 yds I shoot 2 rounds at 100 yds and Long shoots the third (last) one.... We combine for a 0.024" 3 shot group! :shock: Are you kidding me!!!! :shock: These ICONs really shoot!!!!
