I'm bored

RL26 would be my first choice , works well in my 300 Wby and 165gr TTSX. RL22 would be my second.

Being bored sucks! I live alone with Casper, and Ari my 12 YO killing machine of a cat.

Which always seems to lead to what should I build with the rifle parts I have in my safe. So I did what any red blooded American would do and started looking for the needed parts to make a completed rifle to come together.

I found a Benchmark CFW .257 7.5 twist 24” Sendero lite barrel at Blue Mountain Precision. I didn’t know Eric Anderson the owner, but we’ve shot a lot of the same matches over the last seven years, and I’ve RO’d him plenty of other times as well.

He’s chambered up a lot of my friends barrels, and they’re all shooters. We chatted for almost two hours which helped pass the boredom I was previously going through. Turns out that we know a lot of the same people!

Hunting down hard to find gun parts, the barrel , check βœ…! Ordering a stock from someone that knows little about actions, or barrel profiles….. Unbelievable! So I asked around whom do I need to talk to their to get the results that I could do in my sleep!

But yes I’ve decided to build a 25/7PRC with a reamer that has a .140 FB that I should have no problem using Nosler’s 115 Ballistic Tip or 120 Partitions.

I wish they’d bring out something in the 120-135 range in a BT, and a AB, plus a long heavy 135 Partition!

Just bored, should I do a test with some 180 TTSX Barnes in my 300 Mag, if so, what powders should I try,,,,RL22, H1000 or some RL 25
or,,,
try some 130 Accubonds or 140 Ballistic Tips in the 6.5 Creedmoor with some H4350,,,,
Load development with the NBT's would be cheaper...:)
I guess, I need to send you some guns to do load development on...I am way behind

Hey, I am just trying to to keep a shooting buddy from boredom...πŸ˜‡

@TackDriver284 ,
Do you want to start with a 6GT, Kauger action, Z-Comp scope
Fast twist 25-284 (Borden action) with a carbon wrapped Bartlein barrel
Fast twist 25 PRC (Kauger action)

I can send him a few as well:ROFLMAO:
That gave me an idea, to open a Load Development Service. :ROFLMAO:
Kidding aside,,,,, Ernie those calibers looks interesting. yes, the 140 Ballistic Tips are cheaper, got 10 boxes of these when I bought them 4 years ago, and never tried them yet. I have two boxes of 180 Barnes TTSX for the 300 Mag as well. I'm itching to see how they shoot for the next nilgai. It's been wet from all the rains we had, even our match has been cancelled due to the area being flooded from a swelled up canal. Match resumes in May. The 100 yard range should be dried up by next week and winds have been very bad with gusts up to mid 40's and will continue for the next several days. In the 3 next matches starting next month I'll be fireforming the 6 Dasher Alpha brass, 230 pieces left out of 300 pieces, then they are off to be annealed.

I can send him a few as well:ROFLMAO:
One has to marvel at the generous spirit displayed repeatedly through the participants of the forum. I am left standing in awe at the eager rush to enlist others to do the work of developing loads or to invest more moneys into acquiring firing systems.:unsure:
