I take a shot a day and thought I would post a video of yesterday's shot with the...
U.S. Remington Model 1903
Yesterday and the day before were the only times I've shot it at 400 yards. I'm starting to get better at using peep sights and felt comfortable to try at that range.

I hope to be a productive member of the site...

P.S. I've only tried 1 box of Noslers and I liked their accuracy. They were 150gr ballistic tipped boat tails, (green point.)

Welcome Win_94, That's a good distance with peep sights. I have a couple good peep sights on my old rifles. Good in the brush.

The guys are right, 400 yards is a good poke with a peep, but heck, 1000's of Marines qualify out at 500 with their service rifles with a peep every year. I have peeps on a few of my lever rifles and love them to pieces. Matter of fact, my M94 30-30 wears a peep as well! Scotty

Welcome to the forum. Good to have you aboard. I have a few Model 94s; mine are all Big Bores, however. They are favourite rifles. I enjoyed the brief video, as well. I'm afraid I'm growing sufficiently old that I've removed my Williams sights from my rifles (except for one old Ross 303). All the others now wear glass. You'll find a good group of fellows here.

Welcome aboard, I qualified to 500 yards with an M-1, .30-06 in Army Trainfire just over 50 years ago. Nobody then thought it was a feat shooting silouettes at 500 yards with an M-1 or 03-A3.

Tell us about your loads.

The load in the video is the only load I've developed in the Springfield, at that time it was the best group I ever shot with iron sights.

That uses the 168gr A-Max- COL 3.25, CCI 200, IMR 4064: 48.2gr, Winchester case..

I do shoot 400 yards with my Win_94; here is the last shot I took with it, one shot that day.
Win94, Speer 130gr, 400 Yards
That is my favorite short range load for it, I planned on keeping the range to 300 yards but I was experimenting with different bullets and POIs.
That load is Speer 130gr FN: COL 2.54 - cannelure/crimp, CCI 200, Varget 35.9gr, case Remington.
I developed that load when my peep sight proficiency with my Williams peep wasn't all that great, it shoots about 1moa.
I have lots of sub-moa loads with that rifle, developed from when I had a scope mounted on it. My best shot to date is shot with that rifle scoped.

I also have an US Model of 1917 Eddystone. That is the rifle whereas I got my best group from. I'll never be able to top it.

That is the last load developed for it, too bad the ballistics of the A-Max does not correlate to the sight graduations.
I have a lot of sub-moa loads with that rifle also.

I also have a scoped Howa 30-06. That is the rifle I have total faith in; after I had replaced the stock mounts and rings it hasn't let me down... I have let it down on occasion. Here is a video of the last time I shot it, 3 shots that day.

Just less than .5moa. I have lots of .5moa and less loads with it; but I love the loads using inexpensive components!

If I try my darnedest, I can get my pistol to shoot well. Here is a sight-in and group after load development.

My eye started watering; I should have taken a short break then tried.

Until the cattle move on to greener pastures, (which will be soon,) my furthest shots are 400 yards; even then, I'll only have 550-650 yard shots, (no shots from 400-550.) There is a range near me that I'll try 1000 yards and 1 mile but I haven't gone yet. When I'm proficient at 650 yards, I'll give the extended ranges a go.
