I am going to a town hall meeting tomorrow with hopes to voice my opposition to the health care bill. I plan to be elequent and respectfull but stern. Kind of like when you give your kids a good talking to because they still don't listen to what you say.
I haven't been contacted by any organization, political group or any Nazi's.
I guess the "change we can believe in" is going to change the foundations on which this country was built. Everyone thought obama was going to take away our guns first. He may be smarter than we all thought.......
If he takes away our right to voice our opinions it will be much easier to take away our right to keep and bear arms.
Socialism is not far away. They are controling banks, the auto industry and now they are going after health care. Those three things make up a huge portion of our econmy.

Now is not the time to just "pray" for our country.
We all need to stand up right now for our freedoms before they are taken from us.

Let us know if your voice was heard. I like your attitude, and I do hope you were given opportunity to speak and that your representative and/or senator was respectful toward you.

America has been asleep at the wheel for a while. The liberals elected this dude because he is slick.Slicker than Slick Willie. The sad thing is that there had to be a lot of moron conservatives that voted for him.Now we all have to pay. You are doing the right thing , if we just lie down they will finish destroying the country.

Well,
I didn't make it to the town hall meeting. I was in the gun shop talking to the owner and he had said that his buddies had been standing in line since noon They weren't the first ones to arive. He was closing early to go stand in line also. I proceeded to visit the next gun shop on my way home from work and there were a bunch of guys headed in that direction also. When I stopped at the last gun shop on my way home I ended up buying a Ruger LCP and an ankle holster.
When I got home my wife and I figured the rest of the town was going to be there and we decided not to go. We loaded up the truck and went out in the mountians looking for bear.
Our town is to the right when it comes to politics. Most of the state is if you looked at the map. The big cities like Portland and Salem out number all of the small communities. We have a saying around here.... As Portland goes so does the rest of the state.
Oud state representative, Peter DeFazio, has been getting beat up pretty well on the health care issue in all of the town hall meetings so far. I hope he gets the message.
The only thing positive I can say about him is that he has been decent when it comes to the second amendment.

Unfortunately, it is pretty well the standard that the cities tend to vote liberal whilst the rural areas tend to vote conservative. That seems to hold right across America, and Canada also. As Vancouver and Victoria go, so British Columbia goes. As a CO stated on one occasion, one man with a petition against a wolf cull will gather over 10,000 signatures in Vancouver in an afternoon, and that will determine the law. Sounds like you made a statement with the new Ruger, in any case.

Isn't it a coincidence that the 2nd amendment is after the 1st ammendment? No brainer. The 2nd ammendment protects the 1st ammendment.
