Hi Gents and firstly Happy Easter to all of you.

I need some advice on Load data for the caliber in the subject, using 100 grs. Nosler Bullet.

This caliber is quite similar to the .260 Remington, and just a bit less capacity than the 6,5 swedish.

I have been using Norma 204 powder with good results, but I wanted to try to get a bit more speed out of it.
Although I am very happy with this powder, I think the Norma works better for heavier bullets (120-130) as far as velocity.

Probably, for lighter bullets (93-100) I could go faster with the 3031.

Your thoughts, please.

Thankx
Cheers

I would think you need to know your pressure limits since its an 'R' cartridge.

What rifle do you have, its it a break open with less pressure tolerance?

Otherwise you might use 257 Roberts data.

Find Powleys Computer on line. Its the original data calculator for imr powder.

Savage,
my rifle is a Blaser K95 Break open, but the breach is as sturdy as a bolt action (see here http://www.blaser.de/K-95-Characteristi ... .html?&L=1 and check out "locking system" ), so no problems for spicy loads.

Thank you All for your info.
I will try it out and let you know.

Cheers

According to the RWS manual Wiederladen you won't gain any speed by using a faster powder. On the contrary, the book says that with a 93 grains bullet the highest velocity is achieved by using R904 wich is in the same class as Norma 240.
For the 93 grains TMS bullet and R904 they list a load between 49 and 51 grains, giving 855-955 m/s.
Maybe this helps a little bit.
