I was just wondering how these two powders compare.
I have an IMR 4350 load worked up for my 300 WSM but would like to try one of Hodgdon extreme powders. Can I consider these two powders the same as far charge weight goes?
What powders are you guys having the best luck with in the 300 wsm?

The IMR version is just a tad faster. You'll probably find you use a bit more of the Hodgdon then IMR
When changing powders start low and work up.
My buddy uses H4350/180NAB, he was around 2900 and consistently under an inch.

Randy the H4350 is the powder I'm trying next in my son's 300 WSM with the same AccuBond bullet. I have IMR4350 also, but I'm going to give this one a shot  first. Not sue though because I just recently purchased an 8 pound keg of IMR4350 because I was tired of looking for powders all the time and the deal was good.

I use H-4350 in my Win Mag, and 7mm and really like it, both rifles do well with it, will be trying it in my recently purchased win mag when my mounts and stock get here.

Randy is pretty much is spot on. Elaborating another way, you can substitute H-4350 for IMR 4350, but not the other way around,,,as a general rule that is.
H-4350 is one of my favorite powders for over 30 years. And is my first choice when checking loads, f which calls for a medium slow powder.

Has anyone tried H4831 in a 300wsm? I've been going to try this powder to it seems that the short mag likes the little slower stuff. Been mostly using 150gr. E-Tips with great results.

I just loaded and shot 3 loads out of my son's 300 WSM with H4831SC. I'm going to play with it a little more. My buddies 300 WSM really loved it. Here are the three loads I just tried. My son's rifle has 38 rounds down the bore so it's getting broken in at the same time, but it wasn't bad.

My go to powder for my 300WSM with a 180gr AccuBond is RL-22, I'm printing sub one inch groups at a little over 2900 FPS. I tried H4831, H4350 and IMR4350 with mediocre results.

I'm with Nomosendero, I will stick to the H brand of powder. Don't need to loose 300-400 fps, with the temperature swing.

Have you verified this in your rifle and under the field conditions you encounter?

I started out on IMR4350 and haven't ever been compelled to switch because my rifles seem to like it so well accuracy-wise.

I've tested my 257 AI's pet load in 90+ degrees and at 25 degrees and lost 100 fps, but most importantly the groups and POI remained the same as in the higher temps. I had a similar experience w/ my 338-06 and 215 Sierra Game Kings.

I'm in the habit of working up my loads in the heat of the summer for this very reason... I can get something that works in the heat and not really worry about what is going to happen in the cold, while the opposite is not necesarily true, even w/ the more temp resistant powders.
