IMR4451?

I started last month using IMR-4451 in 30-06 with 165gr AB and 270 with 140gr AB. I haven't shot rifles pass 100yd yet and may get started doing that since weather little better.

30-06 I've used IMR-4350/H-4350 and if groups look as good at longer yardage I may switch to IMR-4451. I chronograph loads last week in both rifles and I plan on doing it again, double check before I post velocities.

270 the same wait till I get some longer shooting in before deciding. Forgot to mention my loading data came from Hodgdon 2015 manual.

I loaded some to try in my 6.5X55 last night. Will be trying it later this week for velocity and accuracy along with R22. It is definitely a bulky powder. Burn rate is between the two 4350's, so it should work for my intentions.

I'd be interested in how the 6.5x55 session goes. What bullet are you going to try? I was going to try the load data with the 120 grain BT until I realized I don't have any.
Will at some point try it in the 7x57 and 280 as well.

Did you load the max load for the 06?

I started at 53gr to 57.5gr. About 55gr is when accuracy started getting good. I made another range trip ran same loads got same results. Load density is pretty close to IMR-4350 using Win cases.

I was hoping get to the range today but were snowing so maybe Fri, shoot out to 300yds. It's shooting good enough to keep my interest up. I'm going to try it in the 243AI.

I picked up 8lbs. 1st load I tried was for 6mm Remington, 90 Ballistic Tips. Used same load as 4350. 1st 3 shots touching, pulled 4th for .62" group. Didn't have chronograph out so no idea of velocity. Have some 25-06 and 7mm Mag loaded, just haven't gotten to range.

Bullet is the 140 grain A-frame.

I'll be trying something similar with RL23 I think once I get around to loading for the little Swede..

Looking forward to seeing how you make out Joel.

Glad to hear it worked so well in your 6mm Remington. We have four of those in our family now and I've loaded with IMR4350 just as you. Might have to try some of this. Same with the 25-06 and load up some of those 110 gr. Accubonds I have left.

Hope to get out this week Scott. Still crappy March weather in Minnesota. Is the burn rate the same on 23 as 22?

Gonna try it w/ 100s in my 257 AI & 168 NCCs in my 7-08 on weds!

Might even get to try RL23 in the 280 AI?
