Here's my friend Frank latest build. I named it the Black Widow. It's an old German made Voere Shikar action, rechambered for you guess it, 280 Ackley Improved per my recommendation. The rifle has 26" Krieger, 9 twist in no. 5 contour. Stock is Richard Micro-fit Thumbhole. The rifle was built by my friend Leroy Venson. Waiting for Nosler Brass to arrive so that load development can begin. Enjoy!

DF,

That is a sho' 'nuff handsome rifle. I'd carry it, even in this country.

DF,

Very nice! The 280 AI is a fun round to work with. RL 22 is my top pick for 140 gr-160 gr bullets.
What bullets are you going to work with?

Thank you gentlemen.

This rifle look awesome in person. I have on hand IMR 4831, 4350, 7828, H1000, H4831, and Reloader 25. Now I know, JD's old standby Reloader 22 get the top billing but I don't have any in my powder inventory at the moment. I'll try to develop load for 140 grain Barnes TTSX, 140 grain Berger Hunting VLD, and of course my old reliable 150 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip. I'm expecting my order of components from Powder Valley any minute now and I expect to have loads made before the end of the week. Can't wait to see what this rifle can do. The Voere action is super smooth. With it's 65 degree bolt lift and 3 locking lugs, this action is one of the finest platform to launch Black Widow's deadly venom. :)

That is a great loking rifle! Very distinctive. How was the Richards stock to inlet? Did you Pillar and bed it? CL

That's a very clean looking action on a very slick looking rifle. It looks like a winner.
Greg

Looks good, can't wait to see your results DF! You have all the good ones covered for sure! I imagine that rifle is going to be a real pleasure to do load work for. Scotty

It's time to find out what's the 280 Ackley hoopla is all about.

DF,

It does look as if you are set for a great time at the range. Best of luck. I'll be looking for a report.

So...how did this all work out??

Don't know yet we won't find out until tomorrow :?: We cancelled last weekend due to prior commitment. I know, Frank is anxious. I don't think that guy have sleep at all all week.   :(

DF,

Cant get much more sexy than a Black widow in a short red dress. Looking forwards to range report.
