I just got some TAC for my 358win and while burning many hours doing searches for load data I noticed some irregularities. Now I'm not implying anything just they seemed odd to me.

Here the load is 50gr @ 2556

Here it is 47gr @2556

Here the load is reduced by 2 grains to give 2506. 2 grains of powder for only a drop of 50fps caught my attention.

Different lots of all components, different rifles, and different conditions. You will find a lot of difference in the published manuals. That is why you should reduce and work up as you did. You may be able to go higher if you feel it is necessary. Very few of my loads are against the wall, never felt the additional vel/ft lbs. made any difference in my hunting.Rick.

I loaded up to listed max with TAC, fed210, and 225gr GK bullets. Got about 2430fps in a 20.5" barrel. I hear a mag primer works very well with TAC in the 358win. Just back off a few grains and work up if the Mag LRP is not the primer listed.

Right now I have a batch of 225gr PT's sitting on 46.5grs of H4895 max listed load and from my work up loads will be 2430-50fps. At an OCL of 2.760" they look pretty darn good.

Yep, my thoughts exactly.

These posts all originated with Bullet; I imagine he can give you some insight into the differences he observed. He is pretty careful with his data. I do note that the velocities are all within a fairly tight range, which would lead me to believe that he is working within a similar pressure curve. The differences can be accounted for by differing ambient temperatures at the time of testing (although TAC is relatively temperature stable), lot-to-lot variations, differences in primer brisance, etc.

You should PM him and ask him. He keeps impeccable records.
