OldGobbler.com is awesome - warning - you will spend a bunch of money if you hang out there and look at many patterns.

It is a great site for turkey hunters. Can't wait to check the turkey gun out. Big gobblers await. Scotty

I saw my "first" turkeys of the new year yesterday. Doves are next !!!! Spring is once again upon us !!!

I use a glass slate call.
This is a Bully's, best one I have ever used!

The trukeys were gobbleing around my house this morning. Are they making noise elsewhere? I am kind of interested if they start getting interested at the same time nationwide. ?

I had some tom's in the back yard a couple weeks ago and they were strutting and gobbbeling.

so far weve been up in the 85 ta 90 degree range, we do need some rain tho,,,,,,,
as Elkman said i to was wondering if turkey go into there calling modes at the same time or if its weather related ???? our season starts April 15th and were allowed two toms in the spring and one hen or tom the fall

Here in MI, turkey season starts mid April. The birds are vocal BUT it depends on the temperature. The birds are quite when its cold and rainy. Warm and sunny days are the best, easy to run and gun them.

Jim,

You almost make me want to be a turkey hunter. We don't see a whole bunch of those this far north, but you can never tell!

The best method for learning how to use a mouth call is listen to your favorite music and play along( usually in your truck so the wife don't smack you upside the head.) Try to match the lead guitar with the notes and different tones. It will take some time to learn how to position your tongue and lips to produce certain sounds. Then Sit in the woods and listen to what real hens sound like. After some practise you'll be good to go.

without the wife smackin you upside the head   i know that feeling  i was practicing yesterday and she was sure givin me the evil eye  she'll change her mind when i call that big tom into her
