Hi Gang, young Lad just text me & advised that he bought a Remington XCR ll in a 300 RUM. He as shot 180gr barnes in factory ammo not sure what he wants with reloads.
So now you know :mrgreen: what should we be looking in a load for his new rifle.

Dan,

The 180 gr AB is a great all around bullet. The 200 gr AB makes for a long range hammer.
H1000, RL 25 and Retumbo are all excellent powders for the 300 RUM.

A 200 grain AccuBond is an excellent choice for the big RUM. With that big of a case though the 230 grain Berger would be an awesome long range round.

Dan, hit Woodycreek up for his load. It seems to really bring the thunder in. I wanna say it is a 200 AB at nearly 3200 and it is very accurate. I can't imagine much taking more than one of them..

I'm running 200 AB's with RL25, 26" ported barrel in 700 Rem BDL. gives me 3100 fps and excellent accuracy. Retumbo is good as well, during load development I was able to reach 3200 fps but had pressure signs. My gun likes RL-25, It just shoots better groups. Some guys on the forum can get more velocity with their given loads and gun. The 200 AB is an unbelievable Hammer, BC is excellent shooting Long Range. Nothing wrong with a good Nosler 180 selection either.

With that cartridge, the 200 grain AB is virtually a must.

200 grain AccuBond
94.5 g. retumbo
3.60 " OAL
Fed 215M Match primers
3143 FPS
Nosler or RP cases gives the same results

180 grain AB
98 g. retumbo
3.60"
Fed 215 M primers
3196 fps

200 grain is the most consistent round in this gun for us. Our chronograph is less than modern.

The Sendero likes the same loads but produces tighter groups.
