Laser optics?

I am posting this question for my uncle. He is right handed and right eye dominant. The problem that he is dealing with very recently is an eye health one. His eye doctor tells him that it is unlikely that his eye will improve enough to use a traditional scope. Would it work better to learn to shoot with his “off dominant” eye or invest in a laser sight? If the laser sight is the better option, please refer me to a better grade of optics suitable for a rifle.

He'll be far better served by learning to shoot with his opposite hand in dominate position. Lasers have limited range for sighting purposes, despite the portrayal on television shows.
