Well I have been almost doubling up my hours since getting back from one my most memorable hunts with 4 fine Mountain Men.
My wife, my hunting partner Doug & I are leaving tomorrow for the last few day of open Elk.
My cousin called a 5X5 out on Monday evening & his Bud was able to connect on it . Dan has been asking for us to come out so there was a opportunity that my wife could join us so we are going for it (y).
I hope that DrMike has some spare time (NOT) but I hope that I have a few photographs & a story to tell when we get back either Sunday or Monday!!

Blessings,
Dan

Dan, we're all pulling for you to tag a great elk. I think it is great that you have opportunity to spend time with friends and your good wife stalking elk.

Thank you my Friend :).
I will be giving you a call next week (y)!

Blessings,
Dan

Go get'm Dan, I wish you all the best, I look forward to hearing more :)

Anticipation is always hard to bear; but, man, I'd hate to live with the anticipation of what is coming next. :)

Good luck on closing the distance with an elk , they should be still in the rut here for a week to ten days.
We re hoping moose start pretty soon around here.

Well we got back late yesterday afternoon. We didn't see a Elk in the four days had some chirping but no full out bugling. The hunters in the area are stating that they haven't seen a season this slow in many years.
We did see a couple of cow Moose but there is no open season on cow Moose in Saskatchewan. We did see a good amount of Whitetail deer which is a real good sign! Also saw 2 different Black bear sows with triplets and one really big Black bear boar that didn't run he rolled and as my year has been he was on posted land. Still as usual we had a good time, also my wife came with me which was a first she asked alot of questions . I think she really enjoyed herself and one thing was a definite  there was a up-grade in the cooking !

Blessings,
Dan

Bad timing of the rut and the Super moon this fall. Bugling here has been slow aswell. We setup decoys Sat morning at 5 am , really didn't need flashlights with that moon. I imagine elk and moose would be running hard allnight with it being bright out.
Geese were trying not to co operate aswell but we got a few.

I got a text this morning the guys are going for Moose this afternoon & guess what they got a Spiker last night it came in to a electronic call go figure . Just one of those years I guess, but won't stop me from trying!!
Pheasant opens this coming Friday (y) won't be going out until Sunday as Thursday & Friday will be two things a gong show with a all breeds dog show as a side. Will likely wait until initial rush is over!!

Blessings,
Dan
