Last Time that I use Luepold.... On anything

wish I had asked you guys before I mounted that scope. I have used leupy's for years, and then 2 times in 1 day, I had mount problems. Time to switch.

I started to switch over to Warne one piece bases & rings several years ago. my .480 was walking my Leupold until I switched.. now they are on everything

desert fox,
can you name the mounts on your rifles? I noticed that one of them has a bolt, and that looks very solid! Some others looked like they had a pin?
thanks,
Hardpan

Hardpan, although I've never had any trouble with Leupold mounts, and use them on some fairly hard-kicking rifles, two of my rifles are set up with bases from Badger Ord - which are very tough:

The .300 WSM Model 70:

And my .308 Win precision rifle:

One time I stumbled, fell and dropped the .308 about 6' onto some rocks. The zero wasn't disturbed at all. I was pretty impressed with that, as I'd seen other rifles lose their zero with much less of an impact. Here's a link to Badger Ord: http://badgerord.com/

I've also installed excellent bases and rings made by Glen Seekins in Idaho - superb quality and our local SWAT team relies on them on one of their precision rifles: http://www.seekinsprecision.com/

I've also used Warne bases and rings on another sniper rifle I set up for them.

No doubt those Picatinny type rails & rings are pretty tough - and avail from several different makers, including Leupold.

Regards, Guy

Badger is some good stuff. It is used for alot of the MC's sniper systems. I have been looking at LaRue stuff also, as one of my buddies is pretty good friends with him and his stuff looks rock solid and heck, it comes from Texas, so it can't be all bad. Scotty
