Leaving for Black Bear hunt

There are a lot of goose eggs going around at this time. However, things will change. What is the lodge using for bait, Lou? Any idea of how many stands they have put up?

Get after em Lou. Hopefully you are lucky tonight! Looking forward to some pictures!

Mainly fresh meat scraps and cooking grease Mike, Norm and Wes have about 75 stands set up in about 100 km area.
My bait was hit hard between 3pm Sunday, and 7am yesterday morning. I checked it out this morning, and it wasn't hit, so I'm hoping he'll hit the bait for tonights hunt, I've got a 350gr pill just waiting to bust loose

I'm also gonna park my truck a lot further away from were I walk in, I'm guessing maybe 300-400 yds,

Sweet, sounds like great bait Lou. Hoping you get to unleash that 350 Woodie on a nice bear shortly.

You assuredly have an appropriate pill to give the blackie a dirt nap. We're all puling for you.

I hope the bear hasn't been reading Lou's bullet tests.... He'll be too afraid to come to the bait!

That's what I'm thinking Guy. I'd be wary of ANYBODY sitting around with a 375, terrified if I knew they were shooting Volkswagen sized projectiles.

Had to add a couple of words. It made sense in my head when I typed it. I guess that's what I get for thinking! :?

I just couldn't help myself. Sorry...

Am really hoping Lou clobbers a B&C class black bear!

Guy

Well guys, no luck so far  .So far 10 bears were killed, the biggest one going 250 lbs. I'm gonna hunt 1 more time this afternoon, and I have to head back for home. I just received a phone call from my wife that my Grandmother passed away this morning at 8:30, she would have been 95 years old in December. God bless you Nonna Catherine :(

Lou

Lou,

So sorry to hear of the passing of your grandmother. The hunt is secondary to family. May God grant your family His peace.

Lou,

I am sorry for your loss and will keep you, your family, and Nonna Catherine in my prayers.
