I only have one that I consider a real long range hunting rifle, and another that gets pressed into that role from time to time:

Win Model 70 "Coyote" .300 WSM, "controlled round push feed" action, with a Jewell trigger, laminated stock, 24" stainless barrel, 20 MOA Badger base, and set up here with a 4.5-14x Leupold. It's one heck of a rifle, I just don't use it much. Hanging onto it, because when I do use it, I grin a lot.

Most accurate load I've built for it is a 210 gr Berger VLD at 2810 fps via H4350:

And the other is the rifle I've shot more than any other center fire rifle, probably more than all the rest of my center-fire rifles combined. Have been through several .308 barrels over the past 20 years. Rem 700 short action, .308 Win, 24" Krieger barrel, chambered with the '95 Palma reamer, 1:12 twist. This one has done triple duty as a target rifle, SWAT rifle and hunting rifle. Really like it, just a tad heavy for me, for general purpose hunting. But dang, it's rewarding:

The "Green Machine" while practicing for NRA prone competition. McMillan stock.

Back in the original HS Precision stock, on a mule deer hunt here in Washington, couple of years ago:

So, lets see your "long range hunting" rifles! I know there are some out there...

Regards, Guy

I figured the big one was a .300 Ultra Mag! (y)

Wasn't sure about the .260 Rem... Sweet cartridge from what everyone tells me.

I've gotta get serious and get a load worked up for this one . every time I start to work with this rifle , something comes up and I put this on the back burner . from what I've played it seems like it will shoot .

Toby , 7mm-08 , 24" broughton bbl , trued rem short action ,McMillan A-5 stock , nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 , U S optics folding anti cant level ,badger ordinance bottom metal with drop box magazine . no deer with this one yet . I have shot crows and ground hogs that were out there a ways .

My 308 was feeling left out so I'll throw it up here too. At 16 pounds I doubt it will see any field time, unless I carry it on the 4 wheeler or dedicate a pack horse just for it!

Nice toy's guys. Jimbries, if she doesn't mind the question, what does Samantha weigh?

I just weighed it on my on my bathroom scale , 17 lbs . no ammo , no bipod . I looked through the targets I have on photobucket . this is the only one from Samantha, 10 shots at 100 yards .

There is the 6.5 Creedmoor (savage mod 10 hunter) in a MDT TAC21 chassis.

Lung powered, various caliber, stubby tactical straw, true 1x optics, inherently silenced.

Only thing I do not like about it is the very low BC and lack of knockdown power at extended ranges.

Sorry... I couldn't stop myself. We were taking about mini weapons at work and spit wad came up.

I just finished putting this one together and sighted in so it doesn't have any blod on it yet by me but with any luck it will.
