Looks like a couple of tack drivers. My first specialized rig I traded my Weatherby Mark V in .300 Win Mag for is the new to me Savage 110 Long Range Hunter in .300 Win Mag! It has a 26 inch barrel with a muzzle brake due to my continuous back problems. I needed something that will shoot a little softer for one of the many rounds I like. The other is a Savage 10 Predator Hunter Max-1 in .243 Win. That will handle varmints up to deer for me. The .243 has a 24 inch fluted barrel.
This one made me smile. Brought back some memories.Or there's this one. My first real "long ranger" (longer than the Daisy anyway) Circa 1975. Put new seals in her this summer. Wont hold a charge quite like it used too, but still makes me smile. Untold thousands of shots and lots of optimism. .(Image should be rotated a 1/4 turn left.)CL
I’m pretty sure they will be. I’ve always had good luck with the brand and heavy for caliber bullets.Looks like a couple of tack drivers.

Not sure which I'm loving to see more of.... The SAKO or the Deer head it's holding up! That's a super heavy Rack!My first LR rig...
LH Sako AV (apparently built by a gunsmith in New York and sold in a LGS in NE BC)
Fajen nutmeg laminate stock
24" MacLennan SS Fluted barrel
Glass bedded action
I originally mounted a matte Leupold VX-III 3.5-10x40 scope on it, but then swapped it out for the current VX III 4.5-14 x 40 B&C in Gunmetal Gray , in Leupold rings.
The scoped rifle weighs 8 lbs 7 oz
Shoots the older Federal Premium 160 gr SGK at 3222 fps into 0.75" groups @ 100 yards and 3" groups @ 400 yards
Shoots the newer Federal Premium 160 gr AccuBond also at 3222 into 0.5" groups @ 100 yards and 1" groups @ 300 yards
Has accounted for 30 animals over the past 25 years, from 30 to 475 yards, from antelope to elk
Shoots so well with factory ammo, I haven't tried to handload for this rifle.

My new LR rig
LH Fierce Carbon Rogue in 7MM PRC w/ 24" barrel
I have mounted a Leupold VX-5HD 3.5-15x44 B&C in Talley lightweight one piece rings and bases
The scoped rifle with a full magazine weighs 7 lbs 14 oz
So far it shoots the Hdy 175 gr ELD-X at 2788 fps into 0.892" groups at 100 yards (slower than expected, but I have found the same results in the 6.5 PRC with the Hdy ELD-X ammo)
I have yet to try the following ammo in this rifle:
- Federal 170 gr Terminal Ascent
- Federal 175 gr ELD-X
- Nosler 175 gr ABLR

I always loved my SAKO AV, but I ended up selling it 20 years ago to a friend I traded tile work for along w/a Winchester 70 264 Mag. for his wife.
