Hi Guys, now that my VX-6 is on my CDL has anyone requested Leupold for the free CDS system install & if you have could you give me the details.
Thanking in advance

Blessings,
Dan

Dan,

I have the CDS dial on my VX-3 3.5-10x40mm which is mounted on my 280 AI.
I have a 200 yd zero with the 140 gr AB at 3150 fps and it is dead on out to 600 yds. I can get 750 yds on a single spin.

You are going to like it.

What I was wondering do you just send them the information that is needed and they send you the turrets or do you send them the whole scope?

Blessings,
Dan

Dan,

You will want to call Leupold and give them your details.....

Caliber, Bullet Weight, MV, Zero Distance, Temp, and Elevation.
The Custom Shop will cut you a custom dial and mail it to you. All you have to do is remove the top dial and replace it with your custom dial and you are set to go.

Dan,

Excellent.
The CDS dial works good. You are going to like it.

Just got a email from Leupold US division and was advised I should contact Jim Korth Agencies here in Canada so I did. I received a email back from Jim Korth Agencies advising that I did not get a free set of CDS dials because I purchased a VX6 not a VX3 :(.
So I emailed back to Leupold in the US asking why when you buy a more expensive scope would there not be the same offer. I was also told that I need proof of purchase. I can't believe I did this but I misplaced the bill for my new VX6. I then asked why could not some one look up my serial number as I did register it and they could see that it had not been registered before.
I am kind of interested to see what Leupold is going to say.

Blessings,
Dan

Fascinating, Dan. I haven't even tried to get the CDS dials on my VX6. If you're successful, I may change my mnd.

Hi Mike, just received another email from Sharon a product specialist in Leupold US division. She asked me to forward the email from the Canadian distributor and she was going to check into it. She advised that as far as she knows the VX6 owners are entitled to the CDS dials. She also asked for the serial number of the my scope. I sent that to her as well.
I really thanked her for her help as she is at least making a effort to help out a customer.
PS. The VX6 is not a cheap scope so you would think that the same offer would be given as well.

Blessings,
Dan

Best of luck with Leupold. I hope they extend the offer to you, they work well with a specific load.

Yes JD, I have been shooting the same load out of my 270 win for a number of years. I may change powders because of all the good things I have been hearing about RL-22 but .5 is hard to give up on with my IMR4350
The CDS dials would be nice but I have shot the 270 for so many years I know where to hold for shot out past where I should be shooting anyways.

Blessings,
Dan

Just a heads up....when I sent my VX-II in for repairs this spring they told me to expect a month turn around because they were backed up doing CDS dials..... CL

Thanks CL, I guess I am lucky as I don't have to send in the actual scope.
I am not sure that I will even get them if I have to pay for them as I said before I have shot the 270 for so long I know where to hold.
It was supposed to be free from all info I had so I was going to get them.
Oh well all they can say is no.

Blessings,
Dan

+1 Dan, I feel the same way for the same reasons. On loading: if it ain't broke, don't fix it and the CDS dial would be nice to have despite knowing my trajectory. My issue was always range estimation, prior to laser finders, more than trajectory.

Exactly CDR3, in fact if I can figure out a way I will have a Leica rangefinder before this hunting season begins.

Blessings,
Dan

Dan, I have an old Busnell rangefinder which still works but really should be updated with later laser technology.

I got a email back from Head Office in USA was advised that they are going to have Canadian distributor call me & take info for my free CDS dials:)!!
The lady I dealt with was excellent great customer service :)
