Leupold VX-6

Generally speaking, the German scopes are premium priced and most of them cost somewhat more (in the United States) than a VX-6 Leupold. That particular scope sounds as though it had a bad tolerance stack-up in the power ring fitting.

Premium priced in part because of high German labor costs and USA import costs.
Meopta makes a great product in Czech and it doesn't cost half

Thanks guys

Yeah it's a custom 308win

I'll spare you the details unless you ask for them

Basically it's a Rem 700 clone

Seriously? For sure this group of rifle cranks want to know all about it! Is that a Mickey Remington Classic?

Sweet! I'd like to build something similar on a Defiance action... Maybe a 7WSM, maybe a little lighter but longer tube. I dig the mix on the stock.

You will never go wrong with a defiance action they are at the top of the heap or awful close to it

Blessings,
Dan

That was one of my pet peeves with Leupold. Stiff power ring on quite a few.

I suspect that the power ring of Leupold scopes will leak nitrogen (or argon) gas from the scope tube if the hoop tension is not high enough to seal the inner workings from leaking gas by being somewhat tight tension on the power ring fit to the body tube. This has been the case with the VX-3 line to a lesser extent as well.
