The other thing to considet would be a muzzle break. Granted ear protection would be an absolute must. But being that you are in the springs. Rich riley does a fantastic break for cheap and you can always cap it.all of these guys have given sound advice. Obly thing you may try to find is the 95 or 100 grain accelerators in 30 cal. Have not loaded any in quite some time so I'm not sure if they are even available anymore

No offense and I like Rich as a person, bit he is the laziest gunsmith I've ever seen. He'll never see a dime of mine ever again. Last straw was when I dropped off a rifle to have the headspace checked and to be bedded. I had started a new job and I left the rifle there eight months, when I went in there was my rifle laying in the same pieces on the same bench I'd left it on eight months earlier. Only thing that had changed was the amount of dust on it.

I'm very satisfied with the work Rich has done I the past, but he has never done anything for me in an expedient manner. I popped nto my new GS a little over a week ag when I picked up the .300 Savage, dropped off that rifle that Rich couldn't get to and another to get bedded as well. I got the call that both were ready for pickup today. 10 days is fast and I feel a month is reasoable, eight months is unacceptable for simple work. Rich just has very serios issues with time management.

I agree by all means. But I use rich only for breaks. He is not technically a "gunsmith" he is a rifle builder. And builds very nice ones.but when I comes to gunsmithing that is the least of his worries. If you would like my neighbor is gary kimball. He is a true gunsmith. And does excellent work. That is who I use for normal gunsmith work. As well as custom work.

I use Kevin Weaver for all my gunsmithing needs now. He may be a little bit of a drive for me, but he's fast, easy to deal with, and not so full of himself. I had Rich "build" me a rifle and chalk it up to inexperience, I waited four years for him to finish it. For my four year wait I got a nice rifle but nothing special.
