All suggestions for a good accurate deer load using the .243 gratefully received.

I would go with the 95g NBT and IMR4350, or 4831 powder. Should get an easy 3000fps and is good for deer out to an easy 400 yards.

I haven't yet tried Nosler bullets in my 243 but a very accurate load for my CZ550 Full Stock has been Sierra and/or Speer 100 grain bullets over 47 grains of IMR7828 using CCI 200 primers.

I get super accuracy in my Ruger #1V 25-06 with Nosler 100 grain ballistic tip bullets over a full case of Retumbo powder and CCI 200 primers.

In both cases I tried magnum primers and accuracy suffered. In both cases I seat the bullet less than .010 off the lands.

Try the Nosler 100 gr Solid Base or Partition, or 95 gr Ballistic Tip or Partition, with a healthy dose of IMR-4350, IMR-4831, H-4831, Reloder 22 or Accurate 3100. I am loading the 95 gr Ballistic Tip with 43.2 gr of Accurate Data 86 powder (a bulk equivalent of 3100) and getting around 3050 fps with 5 shot groups under an inch at 100 yards from the benchrest. Other powders to try would be Vihtavuori N-160 or N-165, Reloder 19, Ramshot Hunter or Magnum, you could even try Accurate Arms Magpro. It is a slow burning ball powder that should be close in burning rate to the old H-450 which, my old .243's loved with 100 gr bullets.

Right now I use:

100gr. Remington PSPCLs bulk from Midway USA
41gr. IMR 4350
R-P cases
WLR primers
mv=2846 fps

Shoots sub MOA out to 200 yards (farthest I've paper tested it) and typically averages .75" at 100 yards and less than 2" at 200. It's minute of clay pidgeon out to just under 250. Kills deer just fine.

I don't have a 243 but i worked up a very good load for a friend who does. The bullet is a 100gr Sierra Pro Hunter in front of RL19 with a fed 210 primer and Rem brass. I'll have to check my notes because i can't remember the charge weight right off.
