We had a tough summer in Oregon, little over 2million acres burned, some of those fires that started in early July are still burning but contained. We are still getting new fires starting but those are limited in size and quickly contained. I’ve been hoping to get a small controlled burn in a strip of mostly Ponderosa, about 5 or 6 acres but it is just too dry even though we’ve had a little rain. While it was 80 yesterday, our highs were forcast to be in the mid 60s next week with maybe a little rain. Did a little mowing yesterday to help with a fire break if I get the chance next week. Just checked the weather report again. We have snow in the forcast Monday morning. Hard to get a controlled burn going with snow on the ground. We’ve had snow this early before but normal is first week of November. Could be an interesting winter.
