No go for the .270 it's a donor for something that's why I bought a .270.

Just quoted it because I like to hear about donor .270s.

Just haven't decided yet another one of those back burner projects. Matter of time before I decide what I want to do. Need another 2 of those actions.

You and me both, brotha.

Looking at that Quickload data for the 140 gr. Nosler Ballistic tip, the max shown s three full grains over the max load for my push feeed M70 FWT in 7x57 and Ruger #1A. It is well over max in my custom Mauser in 7x57 and will lock up the bolt. My bad on that one. As it was safe in two rifles I made the assumption it would be OK in the custom. I was wrong. :(
I bought some 150 gr. ABLRs to use in my .280 Rem. but decided to keep them for the 7x57. My preference is for Winchester brass in the 7x57 but Remington works quite well. I can't afford Norma or Lapua at this time in my life so the lesser brands will have to do. Besides, I have a friend who als in components and he made me a very good smokin' deal so I probably have enough to last me the rest of my life. 8)

It's all in good fun since i have one  Thought about a rebarrel or reboring but, can't bring myself to do it. My first deer rifle from parents.

My .270 was a project rifle that I bought from a friend who was too old to hunt anymore. I over paid him for a rifle that became a project to remember him by and provide me with a specially made custom rifle. That was 42 years ago and I am still using that .270 Win Super Grade as my most fond deer killer.

Yeah, I have four, plus a WSM. But I swear, two were specifically bought as donors, and I've been too lazy/broke to build the 6.5-06 and .338-06 I've planned to build.

Do you know how dangerous a proposition your making Charlie? The only reason I pick on the 270 is I have a 280. So if I chose a 280 for a donor I'd be very tempted to shoot it ammo on hand. An 06 is very dangerous too. As I have a set of dies and brass for a friends rifle I load for I could see a 25-06 being very tempting and dangerous. That's the only reason I pick on a 270 is I don't have a desire to shoot one!!!

Okay, I will let you off the hook. Just remember: one man's trash is another man's hash!

Hmmmm. I never ate trash hash, Charlie. Did they serve that in the Army?

Man, all this 270 slaying! Jeeze, your rough on the best offspring of the 35-06!

...Scotty, you need to face the reality that the .270 is the "Red-headed Stepchild" of the '06 clan... :?

Well it's a sweetheart. Run 48-50 gr of H414 in her behind a 150 no pressure signs. This is what she did with 48 and a 150PT. Rounds 7-9 out the barrel no rest shooting prone I think I have a winner.

Well, like you, Jake, I'm thinking this might be a shooter! Good show.

I shot my 7X57 the other day after a morning of shooting a 338 Lapua, a 280 Ross and a 30-06. As I pulled the trigger, I was thinking, "Hey, I could get to like this. Recoil is insignificant, velocity is good, accuracy is excellent--yeah, I could go for this!"

The 270 is legit, you are thinking of the 338-06
