Reading another post about M-48 tune-up, I sent my M-48 back to Nosler and also had them refinish the stock, MAJOR improvement, they also went throught the rifle and check things out. They changed the trigger from the timney to ?. I had some work done on the original trigger and I guess because of liability reasons they could not send the original one back with the rifle. The jury is still out regarding the new trigger, I will wait till I shoot again to make a final decision to see if it is better than the one I had. Does anyone know what the new style trigger is? Anyway THANK YOU NOSLER, you are a top notch company and provide excellent products.

My Timney was replaced in 2011 with a Rifle Basix.

The Rifle Basix is a better feeling trigger, although I much prefer the 3 position safety on the Timney.

Chipper, that sounds like great customer service! I think they went to a Rifle Basix trigger, although, I am not totally sure though.

Get us a picture. We are hounds with the pictures!

It could be a Timney sense you mention the three position safety, this also has a three position, maybe they just replace with another Timney, I am not sure if I can tell without removing the trigger. As I saaid before the finish on the stock is excellent, it has a silky smooth touch, but provides a firm grip. Can't wait for some range time.

If it's fitted with a 3-Position safety, the trigger is manufactured by Timney--the 2-Position safety and trigger configuration is manufactured for us by Rifle Basix. Generally, if your rifle was fitted with a 3-Position when it was returned to us for warranty work, we will not replace it, but it must be re-set to the the factory 3# pull weight before it is returned to you.

Hopefully that answers your question!

Don't it give you a fuzzy feeling to know there is a fine rifle Co. out there, still willing to do great gun work and customer service.

I find it a relief that there is someone in the rifle business that you can count on for sure.

Interesting. Is there a reason that Nosler insists on the 3# rule?
When I returned a trigger to Timney to have it adjusted they just threw it away and sent me a new one set at 2# as I had requested.

Ruger throws away all aftermarket parts and replaces them with factory ones before sending a pistol back. That sure surprises some owners when they see the return.

The 3# Trigger Pull is actually an ANSI/SAAMI standard that we adhere to. Any time we come across a trigger is not within specifications (has been adjusted after leaving our facility), we will fully inspect it prior to resetting. If only adjustment screws have been turned and no changes have been made to the trigger mechanism itself, we will re-set the screws and thoroughly test the trigger for pull-weight, slam-fire and safety function. If any portion of the trigger has been adjusted (filed, worn, etc), we will replace the trigger unit with a new one of the same type that is within our specifications.

Hopefully that clears up any confusion.
