I picked this up off 24HourCampfire for $60 ( just the stock ). It's a factory take off the owner replaced it with a B&C and was asking what it was worth, I offered him $50 and he countered with $60 shipped so I said I would take it.
Last week there would have been Snow in this picture

Thanks fellows. I now have a OME Classic walnut stock for the M70 still in the box that I'm thinking of selling if some one needs one. I like the laminated stock more even though it is used and has a couple of minor finish issues that you really have to look for to see.

Nice. They're real stable and look pretty good too. I think I read somewhere that 90% of the factory laminate stocks for Rem, Ruger & Winchester were made by Boyds.

Yours looks real good. I like those gray tones on a rifle.

That does look really nice. Great snag!

I just got done fitting, glass bedding, finishing, and checkering a Boyd's Grey/pepper laminate for my M70 classic stainless last week. Need to get pics up. They laminates do look good.

Thanks Guy. It also has some light red ,blue and green in it that doesn't show in the pics. The checkering is sharp and clean, the recoil lug looks to have been skim bedded also. The action fit nice and snug. This is my first laminated stock and it is for the two piece bottom metal. Thanks for the info. :)

Rodger that is a great deal for a laminated stock!! Good job young man !

Blessings,
Dan

Very nice !

I pulled a black Tupperware stock off my Mdl 70 and replaced it with a pepper (grey/black) laminate
from Boyd's.
Looks almost identical to your rifle.

Boyd's probably made them for Winchester or USARC who built my M70 in New Haven.
I'm Thinking hard on putting a Stainless barrel on it and make It a two tone.

I took my Model 70 Tupperware off and sold it (cheaply). I found a Grade II, walnut stock to replace the Tupperware stock for $125. and it looks great!

Nice!

My M70 35 Whelen was born into tupperware, but now sits in McMillan. It is much happier, and so am I. :)

I'm usually not much of a laminate fan (nothing against them, just rarely see one that catches my eye), but that one looks pretty dang nice! Can't beat that price, either. Well done! :)

Keep an eye open at Boyd's.
I've bought two stocks from them that were inletted and unfinished.
I think they were $59.00 each.
Doesn't take much to fit one.
Some sandpaper, a little elbow grease and a little Tru-oil makes a nice looking rig.

That's great intel Howard. I've actually got their page open right now, looking for M70 stocks...

I've also looked at their unfinished stocks but I like some checkering to hold on to and dress it up so I've always looked at the add on custom section.

Scotty you might look at Numrich Gunparts for a stock they had a lot of short action wood when I was looking.
