I had 6 rifles to shoot this morning.

300 Wby Mag
Shot 180 BTip factory ammo. .891" group. Recoil was not as bad as anticipated. So, if you are needing a 300 Wby Mag in a Sako, that shoots, let me know.

6.5 Grendel - .315" group

270-zeroed it in with some factory ammo now that it is wearing a Minox scope. I plan to start working on it soon.

.243 X-Bolt. I shot 10 rounds of blue box Federal ammo an had on group what was just over 1". I can't wait to start reloading for this rifle.

Dad's 25-06. I rezeroed since I had to send the scope back to Leupold. I had some loads that shot good one other time. I tried 3-3 shot groups and they were all around 1.75". I need to start over with this rifle since the scope was messed up when I first started working with this rifle. I might also try some 115 PT in it.

Win 338 shooting 225 Interlocks and RL 19. I made these loads this past winter and had them set up at 75 grains but with different depths. None of them shot well. 4" groups were what I came up with. I have been fighting this rifle for a while now and I am going to give it one more try before it goes down the road. I am going to try the 210 PT again. (I now have a VXIII on it so that should help) I have RL19 and H4350 to try with the 210 PT and new brass.

It was a good trip except for finding the bee hive under the bench at the range. I need to get dad's 25-06 and the 338WM dialed in now.

Before you give up on the .338 try the Barnes 210 grain TSX BT.

Maybe try 250gr in the .338
Some rifles like heavier bullets.

I did some looking back and found a couple 210PT loads that shot 1.25" for me. I think with new brass and a new scope, I might be able to get them down to 1".

Sounds good except the 338, you certainly have tried a lot of loads in it over the years here.I don't think any animal will ever know the difference between it and the 300 Wby. A 180 or 200 gr spitzer will take care of a lot of stuff and a 220 gr Partition is a deep penetrating bullet that is a real hammer on big stuff......

I have used the 210 grain Partition in various .338's and a .340 Bee for over 40 years. They have always been accurate in several .338 rifles, plus they kill game really well also.

Are you looking to sell the Sako?

Sounds like a great range day WT. I wished I could help you out more with your 338, but I think you have a good plan to try the 210's again with the new scope.

That Sako 300 WBY is dreamy buddy.. I know it is much bigger than needed for your local area, but the 300 Wby is really a good cartridge for the West, and as Gerry said, loaded with 18-200-220 is really something to see. In the mean time, I am putting my son up for sale..

Anybody looking for a solid 16 year old male. He will work for food! HA!

Your son is welcome to WI for a few weeks to shovel dirt, paint and carry tree stands into the woods.

Yup! I believe every dad of a sixteen-year-old boy has given serious consideration to farming him out at one time or another. Multiple boys, well it means poverty and penury for day for quite a few years. The day comes that dad will sing, "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, I'm free at last." Then, the tune changes to "When are the boys coming by."

Yeah, he is a great kid. Working steadily this Summer and doing what I expect a 16 year old to do. Couldn't be prouder of him. He is slinging feed, hay, fertilizer and the like at the local feed store 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Glad to see him work and be tired out at the end of the day.
