This was in my community... tragic situation for sure.

Black bear. Predatory attack. Very ugly. I spoke with several people regarding the details- just tragic.

I wasn't acquainted with Mr. Weaver, but am with several of his associates. His family could certainly stand to be in your prayers right now.

Hodgeman, have any more details come to light? Predatory, in what way? Again my deepest sympathies to the victim, his family, and the entire community.

Sad news, it would be good for the public in general to know if the man had bearspray and if it was used. I'm not a big proponent of bearspray and I think in the wrong situation it's un effective. Prayers for the family.
