Does anyone have one of these scales? I currently have the RCBS chargemaster and the RCBS lite digital scales/dispensers.

Is the "upgrade" worth the extra funds? Thank you.

Looks impressive on paper and the pictures look great but I would have to be a precision commercial ammo loader to justify buying that.

I've got to believe that unless you are really stretching out your shots and there is prize money involved, you're going to have a hard time noticing the difference between .04gr precision and .1gr precision. I'd love to see a blind test between the two, tho.

for the same money , I'd be looking hard at the A&D auto trickler set up . I have the scale it is great . I don't think I've heard anything negative about the auto trickler set up .

I have the Chargemaster Supreme and it's fine for what I do. I have looked at the MatchMaster, but to Jimbires point, if I was going to spend the money on the Matchmaster I would go with the tried and true, proven platforms like the AutoTrickler, or my #1 choice the Supertrickler that are in the same ballpark in price and known for speed and accuracy of powder dispersion.

If you run the AT V4 you have to get a tablet/phone for it and some add ons to make it complete. Not to mention dealing with the hopper is a bit cumbersome on the AT V4. The Supertrickler is all in one similar to the Matchmaster.

I took a quick look for the one that uses a powder throw , or powder dump , and then trickles up to spec , but I didn't see them . I'm not sure if each new model supersedes the older models maybe .

if you have never used a magnetic force scale , you don't know what you're missing , compared to a strain gauge scale . here's a youtube showing the two .

My old RCBS Powder Pro scales have been ticking right along since 2000. I couldn't justify spending that sort of money. On another note, my old Powder Pro's were made by PACT right here in the USA. Who manufactures the new scales??

I have a SuperTrickler Jim and can’t say enough good about it. Its scale is accurate to the .01 grain which is way more than I need but I know my charges are spot on. It’s fast as well, dumping 65 grains of 26 in about 7-10 seconds. Maybe crazy to spend that money but it does work great and is updatable with new powders as well.

Scotty , that's a fast charge .

I bought the scale before the powder handling attachments were available . at the time , I thought I was nuts for spending that much on a scale , but I've never been sorry for buying it . I really like the scale , if it quit today , I'd be ordering another . . I use the LEE dipper spoons to get the bulk of my powder and trickle to spec . the powder handling set ups look great . I've never used one , or been around one . I know a lot of them are being used , and I can't remember reading any complaints .

that's something guys need to keep in mind on these scales . the accurate to weight is + or - . so if the scale you are using is accurate to .1 , that's + or - .1 . which means your powder can vary .2 grains , and the scale doesn't show it . the video I posted above explains a lot on what to expect , between the scales operating systems .

Does the Trickler V4 stop and spot on at the desired charge or does it undercharge and overcharge by .02 grains at times? I do agree that the FX120i is a great scale because I have one.

I've never used any of the powder dispensing set ups on the FX120i scale . I'm going to say the powder dispensed will be as close as possible to what it's set for . the + or - will be in the scale itself , rounding off to the nearest .02 . keep in mind you really can't weigh powder to the exact perfect weight , no matter how good of a scale you have . there are always bigger , and smaller kernels of powder that help . I weighed the average , normal size . when weighing a load it's surprising how the mix of kernel sizes get the load so close to the desired weight . RL33 has at least 3 different sizes of kernel .

1 average size kernel of
H1000 is .04
RL33 is .06
N570 is .08

if a guy was using a small , fine powder , it could take a few kernels to weigh .02 . this would allow a more precise powder charge . you just have to work with what you have . a lot of my charges , using these big stick powders weigh exactly on to + .02 . or my desired weight + /- .02 . say my desired charge is 100.0 with RL33 , I can usually get them to show 100.00 - 100.02 or N570 99.98 - 100.02 .

@SJB358 , I'm sure Scotty can say how accurate these drop charges to what it's set for , or if it goes over often .

You can set the machine to drop at whatever you want. Meaning if the charge is meant for 60 grains a charge of 59.98 to 60.02 is acceptable and the machine green lights it. I fooled around with the settings a bit early on and this was the most useful for me.
