Anyone have any experience with either the Rem Hunter or the Rem BDL fiberglass stocks? I want one of them for a 22-250 and can't decide which of the two would be best. The Hunter is listed with a small palm swell and the BDL is listed with a slightly larger fore end. Would like to handle the two but that isn't possible. The BDL picture shows a bit more pronounced pistol grip. Thinking of a marbled with maybe 45% olive or green, 30% light tan and 25% black. Any thoughts or experience with either of these stocks?

The stock in the picture from McMillian that show the Remington Hunter stock looks like the one on my 223. I used a McMillian Rem BDL on a 300mag and the stock ridesfront bag better and let you go up to a # 5 contour barrel. If your going with #3 barrel I'd use the Hunter and I think the BDL weight more need to call McMillian to verify weight of each as they changed things often. Well good luck

I've got a McMillan Remington stock on my .338 RUM. As was mentioned it sits very well in sand bags, carries extremely well and the weight doesn't seem overwhelming. I can tell you that it does a good job through design to mitigate recoil.

Thanks greatly for the input. I am going to call them. The pictures look good.

They will ship the 2 stocks to me for me to handle and inspect. I will have to pay shipping both ways at $35 each way ... a total of $70. That is a bit more than I am willing to pay .... even though I would not expect them to ship it to me at their expense. Estimated delivery time of 10 to 14 weeks after the order is placed they said. The Hunter is the same as the old Sako 75 and the BDL is the same as the factory BDL. So, I am now going to find a Sako 75 and a Rem BDL to handle and inspect rather than pay the $70 shipping. THANKS for all the input ..... Most helpful.

Well I ordered mine for my 280 AI around the middle of sept. and it arrived today. I'll have to wait a few weeks for the guy that ordered it for me to get it to me. That is really cool that they are going to ship you a few stocks to check out first. I don't think you'll be dissapointed.
