American Reloading (in stock) claims to be similar to RL-17 , anyone here tried any yet?

I'll let you know in about a week. Ordered some Saturday, sometimes I get very delayed shipping from them though.

I do a load work up next to the exact powder its compared to. It's almost never the same.
I'm OCD so I make a volumetric/ bulk density, visual, and velocity comparison side by side with the compared powder. Same bullet, depth, primer and powder charge. Total science experiment.

Only had one powder so far from them that was so close in all criteria that I'd give 95% confidence of being the same powder. And 95% is higher than some powder lot number discrepancies of the same exact powder.

I do have a jug of it on order too. I also have MP 605 that isn’t open yet , a Hybrid 100V equivalent. I have used their MP 521 (BL-C2) and I would say it is as close to BL-C2 you can get right down to the smell and looks. It loads grain for grain to BL-C2.

Dude! I ordered 4 boxes of 115 xtp and a couple of jugs of powder.
Today ups delivered 3 boxes of bullets and zero jugs of powder. They charged me for all everything but sent half!!!!!!

I don't know what happened. I called and emailed.

I’ve had several problems with them dropping the ball. They include 2 different bullet orders that never shipped and an order of brass that was wrong. On this powder order UPS is the problem child for me. Tracking showed it out for delivery yesterday , still waiting. Hopefully tomorrow.

UPS has been a major PITA lately trying to track an order . I've had packages show out for delivery a couple days , only to have the tracking show the package about halfway to me a day or two later . I'm starting to think they are not actually scanning the packages , just showing the " should be location " on the tracking . I've even had the UPS truck stop , and the driver tells me I was supposed to have one for you , but it's not on the truck . 3 or 4 days later the package arrived , but the online tracking shows it riding around , out for delivery for these 3 or 4 days . a couple of these botched deliveries , showed I made changes to the delivery , at my request .

maybe they watch a HAZMAT package more closely, who knows .

Sorry to hear about the issues. UPS may not be perfect but they are still much better than the USPS.

Yes USPS is a pain when it comes to shipping bullets. I have only received on package that didn't have some bullets that weren't damaged due to rough handling of the package.
Got an order of 1000 .45 bullets in bound from Georga due tomorrow and hope them were packed well, that flat rate box is not very sturdy.

I really don't have any complaints about my UPS. And i can sign for hazmat on their website.

Fed feaking Ex on the other hand,

Hazmat or a certain dollar amount has to get direct signature. He works the same hours as me! I had to go to the fedex place yesterday to sign for my powder, but the box of bullets is MIA! The box of bullets didn't need signed for, he could have left it his first trip. He came by and posted " we missed you signs" on my door four days in a row without leaving the box.

UPS and Fedex are both horrible here. They both show out for delivery and it shows up a day or two later. UPS was here the other with a couple of packages , but no powder. I think they have a habit loading packages on the wrong trucks.
My powder did show up today and it is an extruded powder so I should be good to go. Sure smells like the RL-17 I was loading last weekend.

i've ordered a few items from american reloading but no powder only brass and bullets. i can't get myself to try "similar to" powders w/o actual data regardless of me reloading for over 40 years.
