Well, it was a good night. The "Uncle's 06" spoke loud & clear tonight. Of course the 180ET did it's job amazingly well, as usual. Here's the pics.

I'm really going to miss the hog hunting (the only thing I'll miss about CA)when I retire and leave Vandenberg AFB for Idaho this time next year.

Great picture and congrats on the pig. Hey what is you load for the 06 using the E-Tip. I will be testing some in my 06 in the morning and I am interested in your E-Tip bullet weight and load if you would please.

Here's a link with all of the info you're requesting. I still haven't made it out to chrono this load, eventually I will.

I pretty certain that little red spot above the shoulder on the lower pic is the exit.

Nice meat hog. You'll have to come back for a hunt from time to time.
Where have you been hunting at?
Good Hunting

I hunt strictly on Vandenberg AFB. It's considered private property as only certain people are allowed to hunt and even those that are allowed have to get a permission slip (a form generated by the 30th Space Wing) to hunt on VAFB. We have a few more rules to deal with than the average CA hunter. Certain parts of the base that are open to hunting have restrictions as to what you can use, such rifle, shotgun/muzzleloader, and archery. No handgun hunting allowed. :(

Well I guess wild pigs are pretty destructive, but I would trade them for our wolves anyday.

Congrats

IF any of you remember last summer when I was asking about which rifle to buy to give to my Uncle, well the 30-06 Vanguard Sporter pictured with the hog is that rifle. It's a good shooter and has the looks that was missing in my safe, so I don't have any issues about ending up with it. I had a feeling I would end up with it anyway.

Very nice Rich.
I sure hope I can figure out where to shoot a few in Colorado!
So what did you do with your, Sausage? Pork Chops?

This hog is for someone else that I work with. The deal I make with anyone that wants a hog is, I'll shoot, gut and skin the hogs. They deal with the butchering however they want and I get reimbursed me for the cost of the tag.

I don't need any pork right now due to the huge one I got in 2007, but I like to hunt them and it's good practice.
