Well it was decided lastnight by my huntin buddies that they were not getting up early to go out. Something about the subzero wind chill and winter weather advisory that teenage girls were taking exception to  .
Well this is what it looks like from the porch, 15F, 6"of new snow and still falling, windy and about 150yd visibility.

They might have a point, maybe we'll take a drive later...

Hope everyone has a successful hunting season

Yeah, a morning like that can definitely rearrange one's plans. Here's to hoping you have a successful season.

There is no bad weather, only wrong clothes ;-)
60 Fahrenheit at my place. Been a long time since we had lot's of snow.
But climate change ain't real...

We used to live up by Eureka, we would not hit hunting hard until the last week of season and then there was usually decent snow. This is a bit early, gonna be a surprise for all the folks new to Montana

The good news is that the snow will push the elk down. Hopefully you will be in the right place at the right time.
Good luck fellas.

For us snow would be a blessing.
Much better contrast on boar at night and bloodtrailing is easier, too
