Mule Deer buck in Velvet

Mule deer buck in velvet. Photo taken this morning while walking Maverick, on No-Tellum Ridge. I like the way the morning sun lights up the buck, but the background was still shady.

Actually saw seven mule deer bucks, two together, then a group of five or six. Not unusual at all for them to be in "bachelor groups" this time of year.
