I sent it to The Gun Works in Oregon and had Joe Williams work his magic with it. It started as a 54 cal TC Hawken. He built a 36” cut rifled round ball barrel for it with a 1:79 twist, and he added a Lyman micro adjustable peep sight with a German silver front sight blade.

I refinished it with a rust browned finish, silver plated hardware, and polished the walnut finish.

The target in the picture was shot at 100 yards on a windy day. The 3 in the center was my last 3 shots. The 2 holes to the right are the previous 3 shots.

Oh, how I enjoy shooting this rifle.
 
It is definitely a handsome piece. Looks as if it performs very well in your hands.
 
I haven’t been lucky enough to connect on a black bear with it yet. I’ve gotten a few deer and a coyote with it though. It knocks them flat.
