She was determined to buy me "gun" for my 50th. I've been reducing the "herd" the last couple of years. What to buy????? She didn't understand that I have all that I "need".
Her statement and I quote "DO NOT TAKE THIS AWAY FROM ME. I'M BUYING YOU A GUN!"
She explained that it would still be here in 30 years and could look back on it. She won.
I'm shooting Sako bolt guns, Browning Autos, and have a couple guns older then me from family. What to buy. Never owned a "Black" gun. Well since Freedom Arms ate up Remington and DPMS and the R25 was born..... I was interested. So thats what I got in a 243.
Now back to last week .. Sake 85, 243W with a Swaro shooting about 5/8 " to 3/4" 3 shot groups. R25 = Right out of the box, stripped down and lubed, VORTEX Viper 4x16, thru together 90BT with 40gns RL17 at SAMMI COAL and wouldn't you know it..... bug holes ... BUG HOLES.
I didn't think these guns would put 5 shots into one hole! I did put a after market Match Trigger in it though.
I'm impressed. Still hunting deer with the Sako but now my Varmint gun seems to be a tack driver. I think I'll take my wife out tonight for dinner and thank her!
