Since brass is getting hard to find and i have alot of 338 Win Mag brass and no rifle for it. how much work is it to neck it down to 7mm Rem Mag. Looking for some advise, pros and cons. Thanks in advance. John

Going from .338 to .284 is a lot of downsizing. It can be done but will require trimming of case length and reducing neck thickness when you are done, before shooting them in a 7mm mag. If it is new .338 mag brass, you might be able to trade for 7mm Mag brass.

I concur with Charlie. It's a lot of change from .338 to .284. If you don't own a neck turner, you'll spend as much on that as you will some 7mm brass. I suspect it can be found online for a reasonable price if you shop a bit. I found Hornady brass in 7mmRemMag in stock three places with just a google search. I have personally used this brass in this chambering and would not hesitate to spend the ~$50 shipped it would take to get it to my door if I were in need of brass. Sell your 338 brass and the net cost will go down.
