I am in the process of loading a 154 gr Hornady SST and Interlock using IMR 4350. I realized that I do not have the proper data. All of my manuals skip from 150 to 162 grs. According to Hodgdon's data I can use a max load of 51.5 grains but they give no starting load. Anyone have a good starting load for these bullets and this powder???

TIA

Quoting the Hornady manual #6
154gr SST, IB, RN, SP
Imr 4350 42.1 grs to start and 50.9 grs max
WLR primer, RP case.

My 280 pushes the 154gr IB with 57.0 grs of RL-22 at an average velocity of 2926 into a .625 group at 100 yds.
That is near max so start low and work up.

Man am I sure glad I asked. I was going to start with about 46 grains....I will never ever just guess. I am just glad I knew better than to just go with a guess...always ask. I never dreamed the starting load would be soo low...

I always start my loads at mid scale hoping to find decent accuracy and velocity. If you started at 46, I don't think that would be too far off. IMO, good guess.
