Need a good load for 223 REM

I need a good load for the 223 Rem. I'm looking for something that is super accurate yet effective on whistle pigs and 'yotes. So far I'm looking at a 50 grn BT using Benchmark Powder but I'm open for suggestions.

I use 27 grains of W748 and a 55 grain bullet.Another good load is a 52 grain bullet and 25 grains of H4895.

I use 25grs IMR4895 or 24.5grs H4895 with a 55gr bullet.

I first tried Benchmark using 50 grain Hornady V-max pellets and got sub moa three shot groups. My groups were a bit tighter using Varget.

I like Benchmark for 55gr and under bullets, and Varget for the heavier. H4895 also works very well in my rifles with 50-53gr match bullets.

No one has mentioned it yet, but the 40 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip will give you one nice ragged hole at 100 yards. My load is Winchester brass, Federal Gold Medal Medal Match small primers and 27.3 grains of Benchmark.

Rifle is a Howa 1500 heavy barrel topped with a fixed eight power Leupold. I will be trying a 6X24X50 Vortex on it next week.

During the spring had impressive performance on sage rats in Crane, Oregon.

I have only shot two coyotes with the above load and both very dead and one small hole in the pelt. Both at about 200 yards. Velocity avg. 3650 FPS.

I used to have a Ruger KM77RFP MKII .223 that just loved Nosler 50gr. Ballistic Tips loaded with Benchmark. That rifle with that combo was scary accurate. I only ever shot one Coyote with that Rifle / Load combo, but it was a bang flop at just over 350 yards. A tiny entrance hole and no exit hole.

I currently shoot a 16" Bushmaster M4 ORC with a 1 in 9" Twist. This Rifle just loves 55gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips loaded with H-4895. (this load has shot sub MOA in over a half dozen .223's I have tried it in, and a DPMS Panther Bull 20 Fluted I had would put em into 3/8" to 1/2" at 100 yards all day long.)

I have taken 12 Coyotes with this Rifle / Load combo with very good results. In fact I never dreamt this lightweight 16" AR Carbine would ever shoot as good as it does. Most 100 yard groups are between 1/2" to 3/4", but then it helped to replace the handguards with an aluminum Free Float Tube.

I have also used 40gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips with Benchmark, H-4198, H-322 & W-748. Accuracy was quite good, but I had a couple problems with the 40's when I hit the shoulder on Coyotes.

Here are the results I have seen using Benchmark:

In case it is illegible, these were 26.5 grains of Benchmark under Midsouth's Varmint Nightmare Extreme 50-grainers, which are in reality Hornady SXs. I believe that Hornady V-Max will shoot a bit tighter, and that BTs will shoot a bit tighter yet. When I do my part, this rifle perrforms and seems to love this load! I'll be working with V-Max and Ballistic Tips in the near future.
